HIS SIDE: I first saw Samantha when she was living at the Kappa Delta house her sophomore year. I worked there to help with the dinners for the girls but she was always the one girl that I noticed every single day. It was funny because I didn't converse much at the table, but I did always notice that whenever I looked around, Samantha was always staring at me(creep HA!) But I didn't really mind, it made me think I had a shot. When we were set up on a date by her friend in the sorority, I thought, now is my chance! We went to 42(baseball movie), got frozen yogurt, and watched ESPN (every girls dream date, right?) I knew she was a keeper when she didn't get up and leave. I can't wait to marry the girl of my dreams.
HER SIDE: I didn't stare at him! He's lying. Kind of. But I did have a crush on him that entire year, so when my friend mentioned setting us up, I was not opposed. A couple weeks later, I literally had just gotten home from the gym when she decided to tell me the date was that night, and that I had 15 minutes to look cute. Great. Long story short, we ended up at the movie 42 (the one about Jackie Robinson) and then went back to his place where we watched ESPN for what I thought was 4 hours (turns out it was 30 minutes).Surprisingly, it ended up being the best first date I ever went on, and now here we are almost 3 years later getting married. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!
THE PROPOSAL: Leading up to the proposal I was super nervous. I was planning the proposal for 3 weeks while she was home in California. I did everything I could to make sure it was a day worth remembering for her. Just ask my friends that helped me. I was freaking out!! The day was August 25th and I picked her up greeting her with her favorite flowers at the Salt Lake City Airport. When we got back to Logan I made sure she wore an outfit for our date that she would approve of because I know she would want to take pictures after I propose.I took her to La Nonne, an Italian restaurant in Logan that is supposed to be the best restaurant in town. I could barely eat my food because I felt sick to my stomach. I honestly was so nervous that she kept asking me if I was ok? I had to keep reassuring her I was. After dinner I drove her through Logan Canyon because we were supposed to watch a movie on a projector with some of my friends. Little did she know what was about to happen. Ten miles into the canyon we pulled over to the spot and parked. She had no idea what was going on. My friends set lights up around the site and we walked through a trail that was lit up. When we reached the site the projector was up only to play the proposal video I created with the help of a couple friends. Her favorite song "Kiss Me" by Ed Sheeran played and she cried instantly. I expressed my love for her and asked her to marry me. She said yes and the rest is history!!
